Sometimes we need a lift before heading out and about, and there’s growing evidence to suggest that cannabis can elevate mood and increase feelings of happiness. That said, when looking to spend time with others, there are a few things to remember before consuming. Most importantly, you should be mindful of particular strains and their unique effects.
- Keep your ratios of THC to CBD on an even playing field with a strain that’s 1:1 in cannabinoid content; THC is what provides the psychoactive effects of cannabis, while CBD is said to provide body-centric effects.
- Bringing strains of cannabis together can be as unique an experience as bringing your long-time friends together. Blending a sativa-dominant CBD strain with a small amount of a sativa-dominant strain that has a mid-range THC (10-15%) ratio can provide a light, uplifting experience.
- Cannabis has different types of families that are known for their particular effects. Haze strains are considered the life-of-the-party, with intense sativa characteristics such as euphoria, high energy and giggles. Skunk strains are said to facilitate feelings of introspection. Kush strains are a different caliber; they are said to provide deep body relaxation while leaving the mind with a feeling of lightness and freedom.
- A CBD-only strain can have the effect of a weight being lifted from your shoulders; the mind quiets and the world slows down. CBD is known as the non-psychoactive cannabinoid, which could potentially alleviate the potential for feeling paranoid; but remember that cannabis affects each of us differently, so starting low and going slow with any strain is a good idea.
